3 x 3 Valentine's mini card

Happy Monday blog friends!
This week's challenge at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge me Monday is to create a 3x3 Valentine's card.

Such a great idea to create some mini cards because they are so much fun to make and also they go perfectly with Valentine's Day favors.

I made this little one using some paper that I download from Paper Craft inspirations Isn't it cute?
The sentiment is from MCT which happen to be this week's sponsor at Fantabulous Cricut.
The cupid cut is from Sweetheart cartridge. It was cut at 1 1/4...

Then I embellished my card with a little piece of ribbon and those little stick pins that I learn to make thanks to my talented blog friend Georgiana from Carson's Creations. She made a picture tutorial that really encourages me to make some of those adorable stick pins. I didn't have bigger pins though, so I used some small ones which happened to be exactly what I needed for my mini card... THANKS so much Georgiana!!!
I am also entering this mini card to My Craft Spot Challenge: Anything goes.
There are BEAUTIFUL projects done by the MCS talented design team for our inspiration... you won't want to miss it!

Hope you like my mini card and thanks for visiting my blog.

To my SIL to be...

My brother is getting married next week, so last night we (the ladies of the family) went out with my SIL to be.  We wanted to make her so very welcome to the family. I think she knows that she is part of the family already, but yesterday we made it "oficial"...

So, I made a card for her.
My brother and her are both biologist/ornitologist so they world spin arround birds, so I couldn't stay away from birds theme... With so many cute cuts of birds on the cricut cartridges the hardest part of making this card was to choose the one that works with the ocassion.
I went with Sweethearts cartridge and the sweet couple in the nest.  The card basse is from A child's year cartridge which I cut twice in 2 diferent colors because I wanted to use the light color for the inside and the dark one for the outside. I love how you can see the birds through that window on the card. Then I dry embossed the front of the card with my cuttlebug birds and swirls folder. I finished the card by adding the string and the tag with the sentiment.

This is a shot of the inside.

Hope you like it and as always all your comments are so very welcome... it makes my day to read comments on my blog.
Thanks for visiting!

My Sweet love

I have always wanted to use this cut and for one reason or another I just haven't.

So this year I decided that I would make a Valentine's day card with that cut from A child's year cartridge... (It sounds like I am fullfilling my new year's resolutions) LOL
I love how this cute little card came up... I love the brown with the red and I LOVE that background paper which is from a DCWV stack that I've had for about one or two years. (There you go, I am using what I already have... another new year's resolution accomplished!!!)
My sentiment is from MCT, I am delighted with my stamp sets... who woldn't?

Hope you like my little card, and as always, thank you for visiting my blog.

I am entering this card to MCT Throwback Thursday Challenge! : Valentine's day.

Get well soon Damask Decor cartridge card.

I love Damask Decor Cartridge although the cuts of that cart are not the type of cuts I usually make. I have to say that sometimes I just seat and look the booklet from start to end just for the pleasure of see the nice damask images. Today I feel brave enough to cut on of those images and place it on a get well card.

What I love from Damask Decor is that any of the shapes is enough to embellish a card... so I came up with this very simple card.
My tag is from Spellbinders "Fancy Tags". Sentiment is from My Creative Time. The green ribbon is a recycle one that I had in my statch... (I knew I had to save it from a Christmas present I received) Added a little ink to all the layers, a pearl and call it done.

I made an extra cut of the center of the Damask design and I used to decorate the inside of the card.

I am entering this card to the One Stop Craft Challenge (Under the weather) at the very last minute.

Hope you like my card and thanks for visiting me.

P.S. i love you

A clean and simple card with a tag on it...
I love to use red and white together. I think that is one of my favorite color combination and I love to use it both in Christmas and Valentine's cards.
So to meet the challenge of The Paper Players I made this card clean and simple. Just a little bit of dry embossing and a simple tag stamped with My Creative Time "You had me at chocolate" stamp set.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Mini card

I was playing with a small piece of cardstock while I was hoping from blog to blog looking for a challenge when I found at 365 cards the perfect challenge for my scraps.
Today's challenge at 365 cards is to create a card not bigger than a 3x3" and the challenge at Flutter By Wednesday's is to use embossing (any kind) with your butterfly, fairy or angel.
I put both challenges togather into my small piece of cardstock and came up with this cute 3" by 2.5" card.

I heat embossed the butterflies which are part of a stamp set from MS that I bought a long time ago, I hand cut them out and placed them over the dry embossed yellow cardstock. Very simple / quick card and a great use of my scraps. (I know I have to make houndreds of these to actually start reducing my pile of scraps, but this could be a begining)  ;o)

Hope you like my mini-card.

Birthday vintage card

After 6 wonderful days at the beach, I am back here to share with you my first ever vintage card.
I have seen a lot of wonderful vintage projects out there and to be honest I was so shy with this style, but I love the vintage look so I though that I have to give it a try. I am not sure if my card here meets or not the vintage rules (don't even know if there are rules) but I like the result.

Please enjoy my card and if you have any advise on how create vintage crafts, I would appreciate if you want to share your knowleadge with me.
Thanks for visiting,

Vivi

Black and White card

Clean And Simple,  that is the concept behind the CAS-ual Fridays challenge blog and I love it.
This week´s challenge is Black and White and no other color allowed.

I made this card in a matter of 30 minutes and the best part is that I only used things that I had over my desk... (I know you should be thinking that my desk is a mess, but no this time... I have it pretty much in order because tomorrow I leave to the beach and I want to find everything organized when I come back :oP )

The bird stamp is the same I used in my brother´s wedding invites and the sentiment is from My creative time. I heat embossed both stamps with white embossing powder. The final size of the card is 7 x 41/4 inches.

Thanks for coming by and do not forget to leave a comment. I would love to know what do you think from my card.

Happy weekend!

You are my sunshine tag

I made this tag with three challenges in mind, but I think that the biggest challenge for me is to just decorate a tag. I think I´ve never done tags before, well at least not like this one, as a project it self with all the emblishments thought just for it.
Anyway, I am in the mood of crafting this week, so I thought it was a good time to get into the current challnge at Paper Playtime which is to create a tag and include a sentiment on it... So, thanks to Janis and the DT for the inspiration, I have to addmit that it was a lot of fun!
To choose the theme for my tag I get inspired from the Cardz TV (It's June in January) and the Sundays with Crissy (Beat The Mid-Winter Blues)  challenges. Both challenges remind me of the cut I used from the Country Life cartridge which at the same time made me think in my little daughter who is my sunshine. The sentiment come from my new set of stamps (yes you are guessing correctly) from My Creative Time.

So there you go, that is the story behind my tag. I hope you like it and thanks for visiting.

Valentine's day bookmarks / Marcadores de libros de San Valentin

This week at Crafty Sprouts the challenge is to Case their DT, so you have to create a project inspired on a DT member project...
I saw the bookmarks DT Zeni made for her daughters (you can find them at her blog Scrappy Zeni or directly to the link here) and I just wanted to jump into them.

I made my version of Zeni's bookmarks by using my Classmates Valentines stamps from My Creative Time. Circles and Scalops were cut with the help of my ever loyal Storybook cartridge.
Super cute and super easy! Thanks Zeni for the inspiration.

I hope you like them!

My heart belongs to you

This is a simple card I made today thinking in Valentine's day although it is not made on the traditional Valentine's colors.
The cuts are from Give a Hoot cartridge and both the outside and the inside sentiments are from My Creative Time.
The squirrel background is white cardstock embosed and inked to match it with the card background paper from DCWV Nana's Kids.
The squirrel's eye is a PK Stamp.
Hope you like it an if you do, leave me a comment... read comments make my day brighter!

With a little caffeine...

There is nothing that makes me want to create cards than have something new in my statch. This is my second card today using my new My Creative Time stamps.
This card could be sent to my self, because caffeine is what I need to start my days, but I made this card with someone else in mind, who is the most caffeine addict person I know.
I hope she likes the card as much as I enjoyed making it.

The sketch of this card is from Paper Crafter's Libary and their challenge for this week:
Makeover Monday Challenge #10: Inspired by Jessica Witty.
I am also entering this card at Card Makin Mamas challenge (NEW) as my second entry for this challenge and into this week's challenge at Whimsical Designs: Anything goes.

Thanks for visiting!!!

I am in the yellow mood

Maybe it is because I've been working with yellow paper on the last days (see my previous post) or maybe because we are having some wonderful sunny days here, but the thing is that I am in the mood of make yellow cards. That is a good thing because I realize that I have several yellow papers that haven't been touched in months (I don't want to say years).
Anyhow this is a card was inspired on the challenge at My Sheri Crafts  which is to make a card/project with a clock represented.
I am also very exited because today I received my first group of stamps from My Creative Time and I just wanted to jump and make a card with them and this sentiment goes perfectly with the clock from the challenge.
I am so happy with my new stamp sets and with the quality of the product. Sure I will go for more soon!
Hope you like my card and thanks for visiting my blog.

Wedding invites

My youngest brother is getting married and I made these as the invites for his wedding.
My SIL wanted Yellow and black as their wedding colors and as both of them are biologist/ornithologist, they wanted birds a the motive of their invites. So I came up with this.

Hope you like them.

I am entering this card to:

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #39 - Inspiration Photo

This week at Birthday Sundaes the challenge is to create a birthday card using the the picture given as inspiration. They are also requireing to add one visible element from the picture on the card, so we have to make a birthday card with a snowman on it.
This is a real challenge for me because we don't have snow here in Costa Rica and for me personally, snowmen are an exclusive image for Christmas. So I made my best effort and I designed a card in pink and green with snowflakes, snowman and a cupcake.
Hope you like it!

Vivi

Snowman stamp is from Recollection, cupcake from Inkadinkado, Sentiment from Kanban Crafts, background shape is Spellbinders, tag from Winter Frolic Cricut cartridge. Snowflakes and Happy Birthday folders from Cuttlebug.
