So, if it just happens that you are visiting my blog, I strongly recommend you to join us and hop through our hop starting the fun at the Birthday Sundaes blog. There are lots of things happening at the Birthday Sundaes Blog and of course it is a GREAT excuse to celebrate... We are going to be saying farewell to some of our first term Design Team members and Welcome our new Design Team.  There are going to be prizes, a fun challenge and blog candy along the way!
If you come here from Maribel 's blog, then you are in the right place.

Now, into this week's challenge, you probably already saw the new look of the blog and as the goal of Birthday Sundaes is to build up those birthday card stashes, what a better theme for this hop than a Birthday Cake or Cup cakes... We all love cup cakes, didn't we?
So, our challenge for this week is to create a Birthday card using a Cake or Cup cake on it and any kind of birthday sentiment on the front.
Here is my first card for this week:

I realize that I am using this sketch so much lately, so I decided to make a second card, this is quite simple but I like how it turns out.

Now, what is a Birthday with out sweets?  Lets go into the blog candies... remember that in order to have a chance at winning the Grand prize Kristie is giving away at the Birthday Sundaes blog, you must leave a comment on all blogs.
I am also offering a prize for one lucky winner, all you have to do is to leave a comment on this post. If you would like to have a second chance to win, just become a follower and add a second comment.

Sandra's Butterfly Birthday Blog Hop

If you arrived here just to visit me, THANKS for coming by, and I would love to invite you to hop with us starting at Sandra's blog HERE. You won't want to miss this hop, there are lots of fun projects and prizes too.

If you are here from Mary's Cardztv blog then you are in the right spot.
I hope you are having fun hoping through Sandra's Birthday celebration.
She is celebrating her Birthday today and tomorrow with a Butterfly Blog Hop so I couldn't miss this opportunity to wish her a Very Happy Birthday, besides, Who doesn't like butterflies?
Crafting world is full of butterfly embellishments, die cuts, buttons, ribbons and all sort of items butterfly related,  so the hard part for this project is to decide which butterfly shape/cut/embellishments I wanted to use.
For today I made this Birthday card that will be sent to Sandra once the hop finished (Sorry Sandra it wont be a surprise anymore!)
I like how it came out and I hope you and Sandra like it too.
I used my favorite butterfly cut, which is the one from Indie Art. Add glitter over the top layer and then I added some lace and pearls to the card. I printed the background paper from www.papercraftinginspirationsmagazine.co.uk.

My daughter is a Butterfly lover too so she wanted to play and asked me if she could make a card with butterflies... so, this is her card...
The flowers and leaves are MS punches. The butterflies were printed from Paper Craft Inspiration site  and then punched out. (It seems like she is a paper punches lover too!)

I almost forget that I have a blog candy for one luck winner.
For a chance to win you just have to leave a comment on this post. For an extra chance you can become a follower and make a second comment saying if you are already a follower or if you are a new one.
I will be choosing my winner next Monday night.

There are many fabulous projects along the way so be sure to hop all over the line and do not forget to leave your comments on every stop so you can be eligible to win the grand prize giveaway. Sandra is giving away a $20 Gift Card to Joann's and one Scrappy Moms Quirky Quotes sponsored by Scrappy Moms!!! How great is that?

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #19 - Inspiration Photo

Happy Sunday!!!
WOW!!! We have lots of amazing entries last week at the Birthay Sundaes
Today at Birthday Sundaes we have an Inspiration Challenge.
We are called to use the photo to be inspired by the theme or the colors for our Birthday cards! (We only ask that if you are going to post the picture on your personal blog, be sure to give the credit of it to the source)

http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/photogallery/seaside-sweets?lpgStart=1&currentslide=9&currentChapter=1

Many thoughts came into my mind with this picture, but I decided to make a card that is pretty much stuck to the picture it self.
I used Life is a Beach cart for the base cut and Sweet Treats for the cupcake. The tag was computer generated by printing the sentiment on a slide sheet and then hand cut it.
Add lots and lots of glitter and done.
Hope you like my card and looking forward to see your creations this week!

Hugs
Vivi

Fabulous 40 (and an embossing tip)

I made this card for a very dear friend of mine that will be celebrating her 40th birthday today.
I bought the Forever Young cartridge last year thinking that me and many of my friends will be turning 40 this year, and this cart just scream how we always feel young. This card is pretty simple but I love how it came up. I hope my friend likes it too.
For the inside I just print the text over that pearly paper and then embossed it!

I have to say that I used to hate that paper because the ink delays hours while dries. BUT I figured out that if after print the text you add embossing powder and then heat it (with the heat gun) any text you print over the paper will be perfectly embossed and takes the card to another level. So that is my tip for you and I hope it works for you, if so, let me know! I would love to see what you can do with this.

I decided to make a little present for my friend too. So I made a Guest Book.
I must say that it was not exactly my idea. It came from Paula Bee from Craft with Bee... She is one of the most talented crafters I've ever seen and I love to go for inspiration at her blog every time I can.
Well, here are some pics of the Guest book that matches my card and some of the internal pages.

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #17: Orange, green and white

It is Sunday and it is time for a new challenge at Birthday Sundaes, and this weeks challenge is to make a Birthday Card using Orange, green and white!
Here is my proposal for this week. I made it with the help of my daughter and we think that it came up cute.
Hope you like it too and as always I hope to see you joining us at the Birthday Sundaes blog.

Today I had a blast with my daughter and my niece!
They wanted to make some cards with me and I came up with this idea that I saw a couple of years ago (I think that the idea came from Joy at Every Day Cricut blog)
The original idea was a Christmas (winter) card, but I took the card feature from Life is a Beach and made these two cards with the girls.
To make the flower layers I had to use my Gypsy in order to fit them with the original cut on the card.
I let the girls assemble the flower, and after that, we used a small piece of auto adhesive plastic to place the flower on the card. The adhesive part of the plastic was facing the front of the card, so we sparkled it with glitter, and as you can guess, that was the girls favorite part!!!! (lol)
A piece of ribbon gave to the cards the final touch.
Hope you like them!
Here are the proud card makers with their creations.

Fun fold/shape card

Happy week for every one! And happy 4th of July to my friends in US!!!!!
Today I am so happy to post this card. I made it for my sister Birthday. She has adopted the country-farmer life since a little more than a year and she is very happy doing so.
This is also a special card because it is a mix of my two favorite type of cards: Fun fold cards and Shape cards!!!
Hope you like it as much as I like.
Hugs,

Challenge #16 at Birthday Sundaes!!!!

This week at Birthday Sundaes challenge blog, we have the all time favorite "Everything goes" challenge! And this week our challenge will be sponsored by

So I went into their store and found this precious image called ASIA and I just love it!
(thank you Stef for providing me such a beautiful image)

I used for my card some paper that I have saved for years. This is a real Japanese paper that my sister brings to me from one of her dear Japanese friend. So Thank you Marce and Yukiko for these amazing papers!!!!

I printed the image on white card stock and then printed it again on the pink Japanese paper. I was thinking in make some kind of paper piecing but with one single cut the dress came out as a real kimono.  I just have to put a little bit of color on her face, hands and feet.

For the sentiment, I used the Pagoda cartridge to cut the Kanji word for "CELEBRATE".

I hope you enjoy my card for this week, and as always I want to invite you to visit the other team members to see what they have in their stores for you and of course, I would love to see your entries at the Birthday Sundaes Blog!!!!
